Kawal Gandhi has been at Google for over 12 years, and he currently leads the Office of CTO, Applied AI team. Before that he led the product operations organization for Search, Ads and Commerce. He and his team were responsible for all launches, improving serviceability and driving adoption of Google brand, platform, and performance products -- a portfolio of over 100+ products and 300+ launches a quarter with 90B annual impact. Before that at Google he managed the search and ads vertical teams (shopping, hotel, and flights) which grew from $110M to $2B under his leadership.

Prior to Google, Kawal was chief software architect at XenSource (oCTO -- Citrix) and an early employee at Marimba (CTO -- BMC Software). his passion lies in taking and delivering on big, audacious goals and he sees the huge opportunity in bringing the Google Cloud and AI teams together to deliver on this vision.

Kawal has a master’s in computing and operations (advanced program and executive leadership management) -- Stanford and Wharton Executive Venture Capital & General management. In his free time, he loves to play with his 6-year-old son and advise upcoming startups. He is on several startups and Nonprofit boards.
