Vendors Prepping Enterprise App Integration Products

Enterprise application integration vendors will kick off the new year with a slew of products that will help their software integrate more tightly with a variety of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management applications.

CrossWorlds Inc. says it will unveil a major new product, CrossWorlds Enterprise, toward the end of the first quarter. CrossWorlds Enterprise is a set of software and tools that will focus on helping customers integrate their core enterprise systems, such as finance, manufacturing, human resources, and purchasing. While CrossWorld's previous products have dealt with connecting ERP systems to third-party applications such as sales-force automation, CrossWorlds Enterprise will help customers connect ERP systems to other ERP systems within a business.

Active Software Inc. will broaden its platform by introducing a number of its adapters-pieces of software that sit between an application and Active's integration engine--in the first half of the year. A key product will be a SAP R/3 server adapter, which will extend SAP Business Workflow to non-SAP applications. Active also plans to support Baan, Siebel 99, PeopleSoft 7.5, and Vantive 8.

Oberon Software Inc. says it will introduce an adapter for Siebel 99 and support for message-queuing products such as IBM's MQ Series, Neon's MQIntegrator, and Microsoft's MSMQ. Oberon's Open Messaging Architecture will let the company's Prospero product use a customer's existing messaging architecture for connecting applications, rather than impose a proprietary messaging platform on users.
