ThinAirApps Unveils Products For Wireless Applications

ThinAirApps releases Identicon products

ThinAirApps Inc. says its new Identicon family of products will make it easier for developers to create applications for wireless devices that access corporate databases. The first product, Identicon DB, allows developers to create applications in Microsoft Visual Basic, C, or C++, which are then converted by Identicon for use with the Palm operating system.

The Java-based Identicon DB server engine handles network and database protocol conversions and administration functions, such as security, session management, usage logs, and user profile management, says Jon Oakes, CEO of ThinAirApps. Identicon DB can then access most standard databases, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM's DB2.

Identicon DB is expected to be available June 18, with pricing for a developer edition starting at $300. Versions that support Research In Motion Ltd.'s BlackBerry and Java-enabled handsets are in development.
