Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and PricewaterhouseCoopers onTuesday announced a partnership to offer entertainment and
media companies a way to implement and integrate content
online.
"Any company that hopes to remain competitive will have to manage their content digitally," says Steve McKenna, Sun's director of worldwide sales for entertainment. "Getting ready for the burgeoning E-business market is the most important thing for media companies today."
Sun will offer hardware--servers and disks--and software for the digital transition, while PricewaterhouseCoopers plans to provide integration services and business reengineering solutions. Oracle's data warehouses will provide repository and archival services.
The vendors plan to expand the partnership in the future for other industries that require similar content management. Financial details were not disclosed.
