The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), the provider of education and training in business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing (DW), has announced the 2005 winners of its annual Best Practices Awards.

TDWI's Best Practices Awards program is designed to identify and honor companies that have demonstrated excellence in developing, deploying, and maintaining BI and DW applications. Winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges who have expertise in BI and DW. Companies and sponsoring solution providers from many diverse industries submitted entries to be judged in a variety of categories.

The 2005 Best Practices Winners are:

Best Enterprise BI Implementation: IBM
Best Scorecard Implementation: HP
BI on a Limited Budget: Cooper University Hospital
BI Stewardship and Data Quality: CheckFree Corporation (Solution Sponsor: Baseline Consulting)
Customer Relationship Management: Sunrise TDC Switzerland AG (Solution Sponsor: Teradata)
Enterprise Data Warehousing: Export Development Canada (Solution Sponsor: SAS)
Enterprise Data Warehousing: ING Americas
Government & Non-profit: US Army NGIC
Right-Time BI: Optimus Telecomunicacoes SA (Solution Sponsor: WeDo Consulting)

TDWI's panel of judges evaluated all submissions on four criteria: business impact, maturity, innovation, and relevance. "We are very pleased with the quality and sophistication of the entries we received," said Peter Quinn, general manager of TDWI. "It is very exciting to hear such a variety of BI success stories."
