QAD on Wednesday unveiled business intelligence software for its enterprise applications that help run manufacturing operations.

QAD BI analyzes data gathered by the software maker's MFG/PRO system, which streamlines manufacturing processes from the production line to financial and supply-chain interactions. Better data analysis enables manufacturers to better align execution with business strategy, officials with the Carpinteria, Calif.-based, company said.

QAD BI comprises two primary components: a data transformer and pre-defined business models. The data transformer performs extraction, transformation and loading functions on raw data collected by MFG/PRO, aggregating the content in a dedicated business intelligence data warehouse. The pre-defined business models incorporate 150 key performance indicators and provide a framework for mapping the collated data to a meaningful format.

QAD BI was unveiled at the company's Explore 2004 User Conference this week in Charlotte, N.C. Pricing was not disclosed.
