Pentaho Joins MySQL Partner Program

Business intelligence vendor Pentaho Corp. formalizes its relationship with MySQL AB by joining its partner program.

Business intelligence vendor Pentaho Corp. on Wednesday said it has formalized its relationship with MySQL AB by joining its partner program.

Pentaho said it joined the Swedish database maker's program as a "Gold Partner." Both companies distribute open source software.

Pentaho's software has always worked best on MySQL, taking advantage of a number of its key features, including the MyISAM and cluster storage engines.

In offering a full BI suite, Pentaho sponsors and includes several open-source projects, such as the JFreeReport reporting project, the Mondrian OLAP project and the Kettle data integration project.

"We're pleased to add Pentaho as an official MySQL Gold Partner," said Nicholas Pujol, director of alliances at MySQL.

Pentaho announced the formal partnership at the MySQL User conference in Santa Clara, Calif.
