Open Text on Wednesday introduced records management software for SAP applications.

The enterprise content management vendor said its Livelink ECM Records Management product would be marketed and supported by SAP and Open Text. The software provides policy-based document management in order to meet regulatory requirements. The product also provides a central repository for sensitive records.

The Open Text software meets U.S. Department of Defense requirements for records management, and offers features designed for government agencies. Generic features include the ability to set retention schedules and to classify documents, whether they are email or written correspondence, ERP content or formal contracts.

In addition, the system can ensure records are destroyed on schedule, while also offering safeguards to ensure others are not deleted. Vital records can be handled and stored separately.

Open Text offers other content-management products for use with SAP applications. They include software for accounts payable and receivable processing, customer information management, employee document management, and contract management.

Pricing for the new SAP product was not disclosed.
