Attensity, a business intelligence software company that specializes in unstructured data applications, announced the beta availability of technology that lets manufacturing companies analyze information in their warranty management systems.

The new release, called Attensity Warranty Advanced Edition, extends the data extraction capabilities of an existing Attensity product suite that examines business information found in e-mails, field reports, service records and similar sources of data. A module in Attensity Warranty includes new reporting, dashboards and alerts functionality.

The new product is designed to let companies in the automotive, durable goods and heavy equipment manufacturing industries investigate problem areas and mitigate risk by responding to adverse events revealed in structured and unstructured content. Information stemming from warranty and service processes is often captured only as unstructured, text-based content.

Attensity Warranty is available in beta immediately. The vendor expects a final product release in early 2005. Pricing information was not immediately available.
