Cognos Signs OEM Agreement with Lombardi Software to Embed BPM Capabilities in Analytic Applications

Companies share vision for integrating BI and BPM for corporate transformation.

Lombardi Software, provider of business process management (BPM) software for Global 2000 companies, has formed a strategic OEM agreement with Cognos, a world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management (CPM). Cognos plans to embed Lombardi Software's TeamWorks within its prepackaged Cognos Analytic Applications portfolio to deliver integrated BPM functionality. This agreement signifies a market trend toward tighter integration of business intelligence and business process management for process-driven initiatives at large organizations worldwide.

"After a thorough evaluation of BPM vendors, Cognos selected Lombardi TeamWorks to incorporate BPM functionality into its Analytic Applications because of its workflow, visibility and collaboration capabilities," said Rod Favaron, president and chief executive officer of Lombardi Software. "Our BPM capabilities as part of the Cognos Analytic Applications will provide an integrated enterprise solution for our customers and prospects."

Cognos Analytic Applications are a portfolio of applications that deliver insight into multiple business functions, providing customers with actionable intelligence for critical, high-impact processes. Lombardi's TeamWorks helps organizations control and continuously improve existing processes to increase productivity, revenues and efficiency while leveraging existing systems.

"Embedding Lombardi TeamWorks in to our analytic applications enables us to combine best practice analytics with guided business processes into our offerings," said Eric Yau, vice-president, Performance Analytics Business Unit at Cognos. "Our decision to work with Lombardi was based on its industry-recognized BPM leadership, advanced technology and strong business acumen."
