SFA Vendor To Offer Free Hosted Apps To Small Businesses

Sales management vendor UpShot.com next week will introducea free online hosted application service aimed at the small- business market.

UpShot Online uses technology from the company's UpShot Sales flagship sales and marketing management package and will be offered to companies with fewer than 100 users at no charge. The Web-based service handles contact management, forecasting, calendaring, and sales pipeline management. The company says that as the applications are upgraded over time, users will be able to download the enhanced versions at no charge.

The company says its strategy is to develop a relationship with the emerging businesses now, so as they grow, they'll be more likely to standardize on the UpShot's more powerful application suite.

Businesses can register for the services at http://www.upshot.com, where they will be required to designate an authorized administrator that will be responsible for registering users. The administrator can follow worksheets or work with UpShot service representatives to customize the system to their own sales environment.
