Peregrine Names CEO

Peregrine Systems Inc., which makes asset- and service-management software, last week appointed John Mutch as its new president and CEO, just weeks after the company emerged from nearly a year in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Mutch takes over for Gary Greenfield, who had been president and CEO since June 2002. Some analysts suggest that Peregrine could be looking for a buyer, perhaps IBM. Peregrine software works well with IBM's Tivoli management apps, and IBM Global Services is a strong sales channel for Peregrine's ServiceCenter and AssetCenter software.
