Original Star Wars Films Land On DVD

The original theatrical versions of the first three movies are coming to DVD in stores September 12.

Lucasfim Ltd has announced the original theatrical versions release of the first three "Star Wars" films are coming to DVD.

George Lucas will bring the first three original theatrical versions of the Star Wars movies – Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi – to stores on Sept. 12.

Each two-disc DVD set will include commentary by George Lucas and some cast and crew members. Lucasfilm will re-archive the movies on Dec. 31.

LucasArts, a Lucasfilm subsidiary, and TT Games will also release LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. The game will ship for across eight platforms: Microsoft Xbox 360, Microsoft Xbox, PlayStation 2, Sony PSP, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
