Oracle Ships Sales Analyzer For The Web

Oracle has begun shipping a Web-enabled version of its Sales Analyzer software and its accompanying Express Web Agent technology. The system now also includes a library of commonly used analytical queries.

Until now, Sales Analyzer has been available only in a client-server version, which required the installation of client software on every desktop. All the business logic of the new version, Release 6.2.1, resides only on the server, and the presentation layer is written in Java, allowing users to access data via the Internet with a browser. The software accesses data in Oracle's Express multidimensional online analytical processing server using Express Web Agent.

The new library will include pre-built queries for studying sales trends by product or geography, ranking customers according to sales, and reviewing sales quotas. Sales Analyzer and Express Web Agent together are priced at $2,990 per named user or $1,495 per named user purchased separately.
