New iPod Shuffle Accessories Protect, Extend Player

XtremeMac announced today some 13 new accessories for Apple's iPod Shuffle music player that provide provide different options for listening and improve the device's usability and durability.

XtremeMac announced today some 13 new accessories for Apple's iPod Shuffle music player.

Five of the accessories provide different options for listening.

The $49.95 AirPlay FM Transmitter for iPod shuffle allows you to play audio wirelessly from your iPod shuffle through any FM radio.

Audio Splitter allows two people to listen to one Shuffle simultaneously. It costs $12.95.

The $49.95 Audio Kit for iPod shuffle connects an iPod shuffle to your car stereo, home stereo system, cassette deck, computer speakers and other music devices.

A Home Stereo Cable is a $12.95 ultra compact cable that allows you to connect any iPod to standard Home Stereo RCA connectors. XtremeMac's Auxiliary Audio Cable, also $12.95, lets you connect directly to speakers.

Many of the accessories are designed to protect iPod Shuffles from damage.

Bumperz for the iPod Shuffle are stick-on protective and decorative covers. Packs of five cost $19.95.

SportWrap for iPod shuffle costs $29.95, comes in four colors and is moisture resistant. Protective covers called "Shieldz" come in nine shades of transparent plastic and cost $19.95 for a pack of three.

Wrapz are thin silicone sleeves that provide form-fitted protection from minor scratches and dents. Packs of three Wrapz for iPod shuffle retail for $24.95

TuffWrapz are thickened silicone sleeves that provide more protection and cost $24.95 each.

The company is also offering add-ons that let you attach the player to one thing or another.

SuperHook for iPod shuffle includes an aluminum carabineer and lets you hook your iPod shuffle to almost anything including backpack straps, belt loops, keychains, purse straps and more. SuperHook for iPod shuffle retails for $19.95.

The $14.95 SuperClip for iPod shuffle is a white plastic clip that lets you attach your iPod shuffle to almost any strap or belt.
