Still No Deal For Palm

The much-ballyhooed deal to acquire smartphone maker Palm has yet to materialize. Meanwhile, Palm's shares took a hit while the market remains antsy for some M&A action.

The much-ballyhooed deal to acquire smartphone maker Palm has yet to materialize. Meanwhile, Palm's shares took a hit while the market remains antsy for some M&A action. Those close to Palm and the potential deal continue to claim that Palm will get an offer soon. A few insiders, though, claim that Palm may have had a hand in the rumors and buzz in an attempt to generate interest in a deal. I don't buy that, but I do think that Palm's financials may have slowed a deal that would have otherwise closed by now.

What do you think? Will Palm get a deal today? Or will these rumors drag on for the next few weeks or even months?
