'Sharepoint Meets YouTube': Zoho Intros Zoho Share

Zoho has added document sharing to its productivity-application mix, with a central repository called Zoho Share.Zoho Share lets users publicly or privately share word processing documents, spreadsheets, PDF files and slide shows in a handful of formats, including files saved in Zoho Write, Zoho Sheet and Zoho Show -- though not Microsoft's Office 2007 files. Businesses can use Zoho Share as a dashboard to manage their Zoho documents within their companies. The utility is also socially enabled so that users can rate, bookmark, e-mail or embed public content as a widget elsewhere; become friends and chat with document authors; and create feeds.

"Our vision for Zoho Share is Sharepoint meets YouTube: the business benefits of organizational document repositories, presented for the YouTube generation, with a friendly, familiar interface," according to a post in Zoho's blog.

Going forward, Zoho says it plans to integrate Zoho Share with other Zoho products, such as Zoho CRM.TechCrunch
