New Servers From HP: Two Today, Two To Come

PC World

Hewlett-Packard has released two new ProLiant servers destined for the SMB market.The $1,400 DL 160 G5 has an internal storage capacity of up to 3 TB and runs on a two Intel Xeon chips. It includes HP's Lights Out 100i Advanced and Select remote management boards.

The $2,000 DL 185 G5 has a internal storage capacity of up to 9 TB and runs on two AMD Opteron processors. It also features HP?s remote management boards.

"These small businesses still don't have a data center but they are starting to build writing closets with racks," said HP server and storage vice president Paul Miller, adding that smaller customers don't need all the capacity, resilience and slots that enterprise customers do. "These products are aimed at those who want the reliability that racks can offer.

HP will have another two servers ready for SMBs within 90 days, the company says.PC World
