@Naimson I agree. In a recent interview on Charlie Rose, Ballmer said basically as much. MS only bought them for the hardware and the know how - it was just a matter of time before MS started to make moves that would be more advantageous for the US market.
Nokia is not a major name in the U.S. so IMO keeping the name really didn't bring more value - just confused the consumer. Because ultimately MS want's to be seen as a maker of hardware devices - the Surface is their first real effort at this and the Nokia based phone which I am not too interested about.
