Decline in BYOD
I've been seeing a decrease interest in BYOD for a while now. As we have taken steps to further secure regulated data across company-managed (including employee-owned but corporately connected) devices, individuals are pushing back at some of the privacy they are giving up in exchange for using their device to work with corporate data and on corporate networks. We have a growing number of staff carrying two phones: one they pay for and don't do busines on, and one the company pays for that is used only for company business. We have the same trend happening with tablets. I see this as a swing the pendulum between convenience and privacy, and I would imagine that the pendulum isn't done swinging away from BYOD for a little while yet.
