Microsoft's Windows Live Goes on the Blink

BetaNews

Users of Microsoft's free Windows Live offering have been on the wrong end of a service outage today that's affecting Windows Live Hotmail, MSN Messenger and other services.Microsoft is still working to resolve the problem, which involves the log-in process. That said, some users who can now log in say they still can't access Hotmail or other Windows Live services. The outage was originally thought to be contained to the East Coast, but users on the West Coast and abroad have also reported problems.

"We have made significant progress in decreasing the number of customers currently affected since initial reports, but the issue has not yet been completely resolved," Windows Live product manager Samanta McManus told BetaNews.

Users, of course, are less than thrilled. One customer, based in Germany, responded to a ChannelWeb message board saying he was "not a happy chappy."BetaNews
