iPhone 3GS Is Already Shipping To Some Who Pre-Ordered

It's on! Some of the first people who pre-ordered the iPhone 3GS have received notification that their phones have shipped. The cool part? Delivery dates are scheduled for June 17, two days before everyone else can get their hands on it.

It's on! Some of the first people who pre-ordered the iPhone 3GS have received notification that their phones have shipped. The cool part? Delivery dates are scheduled for June 17, two days before everyone else can get their hands on it.The shipping notifications come by way of UPS, which has indicated to some that their devices have left the Shenzhen, China, facility and are headed to the U.S. According to UPS, the scheduled delivery dates are for June 17 and June 18.

The iPhone 3GS goes on sale at 8AM on the morning of June 19 at Apple and AT&T retail stores.

Have any of you fully pre-ordered the iPhone 3GS and paid for it? If so, have you received a shipping notice yet? I pre-ordered the device from Apple (not AT&T), but scheduled an in-store pick up for the morning of June 19. Those who pre-ordered before June 13 should have their devices in-hand or available for store pick-up on June 19. If you pre-ordered after June 13, it will take one or two weeks longer to reach you.

I called my local Apple store today to get some clarification on exactly how the process will work. According to the store representative I spoke with, the Apple Store is opening at 8AM for all customers. (AT&T retail stores are opening at 7AM for those who pre-ordered the iPhone 3GS.)

The Apple Store will not have two separate lines, but Apple representatives will be casing the line and giving priority treatment to those who pre-ordered one of the phones.
