HP To Up Energy Efficiency of PCs

Hewlett-Packard continues to expend energy to make its PCs more energy-efficient.The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company will integrate energy-saving technologies and processes, such as more efficient power supplies and lower-energy chipsets, to reach its two-year goal of reducing energy consumption by 25 percent across its entire PC line.

According to recent research, HP found that 83 percent of small businesses say that environmental factors play a role in their decision around technology. And that makes sense, considering the potential going green can have on their bottom lines.

Early last year HP, which says it has the most Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold-listed products of any vendor, also tweaked three of its computers to meet the Environmental Protection Agency?s new Energy Star standard.ComputerWorld
