Hewlett-Packard has announced a trio of EliteBook laptops equipped with professional graphics capabilities.The HP EliteBook 8730w Mobile workstation features Intel's newest Core 2 Quadcore Extreme processor -- the company's first mobile chip running on a total of four processor cores -- and a 17-inch diagonal DreamColor monitor that supports more than 16 million colors (compared to 260,000 colors on typical notebooks). The workstation also features 8 GB of memory, Nvidia's Quadro FX cards with up to 1 GB of dedicated memory, and multiple battery and wireless device options. The HP EliteBook 8730w will ship later this month, with pricing to begin at $1,699.

The EliteBook 8530w and EliteBook 8530p laptops each feature a 15.4-inch diagonal display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 8 GB of memory. Power users in fields such as animation, video production, broadcasting, photography, design and engineering are the notebooks' target market. Pricing will begin at $1,499 for both models, which will ship next month.VNUnet, Laptop Logic
