If you've seen the new Batman movie then you're probably still having nightmares about the Joker. But some eagle-eyed viewers noticed a Nokia-branded touch-screen phone that Morgan Freeman was using. Was this the rumored touchable Nokia Tube?Merely a cool-looking prop, according to a Gizmodo interview with Nokia reps:

In the summer blockbuster, "The Dark Knight," a Nokia device is prominently featured. We worked closely with the producers of "The Dark Knight" to develop an appropriate device that would suit the technology-savvy character of Batman. The Nokia device used in the film is not a commercial product -- at this point.

So, it's possible this may be a real phone at some point, but I doubt you'll be able to shut off security systems or emit a bat-like sonar to give you a map of your enemy's compound.

Of course, if this will be a real device at some point, you have to think that Nokia dropped the ball by not having it ready for the movie's debut. Or at least having an announcement ready to capitalize on the record-setting weekend the flick had.

It's no secret that Nokia will dive into the touch-screen pool with a slate of devices. This was made clear by Kai Oistamo during the company's last earnings conference call.

Ah well, at least the Finnish phone giant offers fans one way to live out their bat fantasies.
