Citrix Systems announced XenApp 5, a new version of its Presentation Server solution, promising greater speed and lower management costs.The new version is part of Citrix's Delivery Center product line, which also includes XenDesktop and XenServer for what the company calls an "end-to-end virtualization solution that spans servers, applications, and desktops." The company claims that XenApp 5 launches applications up to 10 times faster and lowers management costs by more than 25 percent over previous versions.
XenApp 5 runs on Microsoft Windows Server and will be available on September 10, 2008. Pricing ranges from $350 to $600 per concurrent user.Citrix press release
