What feels like mere hours after we first learned about the existence of Storm firmware 4.7.0.141, it appears the Internet Gods have delivered it for your downloading pleasure.Firmware 4.7.0.141 is the latest leaked operating system for the BlackBerry 9530 Storm. There are higher firmware versions being worked on for other variants of the BlackBerry Storm, but this update is the most recent for the Verizon version.

CrackBerry.com managed to find the firmware on the Internet and is providing the information you need to download and install it.

In order to update, you need to download the firmware, backup up your BlackBerry, an then use the BlackBerry software manager to force the phone to update. It takes a wee bit of time.

The first round of updaters have indicated that it clears up some issues seen in previous firmware versions. One commenter said, "This is probably the most snappiest version I've ever used. 113 was good, 122 was better, 131 was eh OK, but 141 definitely one of a kind. Noticed my web browser loads pages much faster. Accessing multimedia and music is very snappy and plays immediately. Quicker menus. Even typing I feel is less laggy." That's all good news.

If you are the adventurous type, feel free to give updating a shot. Keep in mind, this is not an official update being supplied by RIM and Verizon Wireless.
