Microsoft Rolls Out NetWare Migration Package

Microsoft is wooing Netware users with a migration package that contains several incentives.

Microsoft is campaigning for Novell NetWare users, again. This time Microsoft is wooing Netware users with a migration package that contains several incentives ranging from tools, prescriptive guidance, training and tech support and a $600 subsidy for each Windows Server 2003 license purchased under some circumstances. There is a limit of $15,000 per customer, the company said.

"These offerings are designed to help address customers' concerns and assist them in evaluating their options through information, tools and Microsoft partner support, making migration easier and more cost-effective," said Martin Taylor, Microsoft's general manager of Platform Strategy, in a statement.

Microsoft is teaming up with Quest Software Inc. to provide migration guidance and support.

"As a part of the promotion, Microsoft also is offering online training vouchers and unlimited technical support (via newsgroups) at no cost for NetWare users that are considering migrating to the Windows Server platform," Microsoft stated.
