A week after yanking an update for Mac Office from its servers, Microsoft has reissued the patch, but without the still-unfinished security fixes that prompted the company to pull the original.

Last Wednesday, Microsoft accidentally posted a prerelease security and stability update for Office 2004 and Office v. X for the Mac but quickly yanked it, saying the security portion of the patch wasn't ready.

This week, Microsoft rereleased the Office 2004 and Office v. X updates. The former adds improvements to PowerPoint and Entourage, while the latter includes stability enhancements for PowerPoint. The updates range in size from 3.3 Mbytes to 13.7 Mbytes.

Office's automatic update tool will fetch the patches, but users can also manually download them from the Microsoft Web site.
