Number two, the Internet is so confusing and health information even more so. I completely agree with the HSC researcher who noted the basic levels of health literacy needed to understand and then EVALUATE what information is presented.
Consumers are bombarded with health and medical information and misinformation today. From that, they are asked to make decisions or ask their doctor, with whom they have on average 10 minutes to speak with in a visit. Both patient and physician are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to accurate health information.
