Wow... where did you get your info??? You better check again. Solaris 11 DOES NOT have xVM. Oracle axe'd it after they took over Solaris. The only hypervisor based virtualization Oracle offers is Oracle VM. I know this from experience it is not offered in the package repo. Too bad they didn't keep it. It was the most stable XEN available even though the only way you could get it on OpenSolaris was to switch over to the developer pkg repo. I'm still running it and will continue to until something else comes along that impresses me as much as this did. It's hard to beat xVM plus hosting the VM drives on a zfs pool on the same machine plus zfs CIFS. It's the on premise ExaCloud they never came up with.

Meh, still not as cool as System z's LPAR (electrically separate physical partitions) with VM resource pools on top of it and then Linux hosts on top of the VMs. Not to mention, it still runs on Sparc, right? Solaris was never the problem.
