iPhone 4S: 4 Fastest Ways To Drain Battery
All the Steps are okay and all. i guess. i still have my iPhone 4 from way back in the day. i have never dropped it and it doesn't even have a scratch on it. One of the main reasons is because i never use it anymore. i hate my iPhone!!! ..AnyWay., the reason i found this page is because i was looking for an app that i could run and drain my battery all the way down. i use to use Flip Clock. It looked really nice sitting on my desk. It didn't make a sound.. well.. the click of the numbers flipping. But that was it.. and it would stay on and run my battery all the way down. BUT Apply changed all of that. An update came out and it seems that i can't find an app that will over ride the auto lock screen. Does anyone know of app that can keep the iPhone from over locking... without having to turn autolock on?? Something like a time display or some kind of screen saver?? Thanks in advance!!! >> Have Gmail? Turn it on and set it to "Push."

Apparently, the author is working with a model from an alternate universe, since Gmail can only be "Fetched" - there's no support for Gmail push notifications at all!

re: iPhone 4S: 4 Fastest Ways To Drain Battery
I had a blackberry storm before this I Phone 4S. No comparison. The blackberry was sluggish, always shut down by itself and dropped calls continuously. The new I Phone is faster, gets better reception and I don't have to plug it in to my computer to sync it. I did have the battery problem but downloaded the patch and after a hard re-set of my phone it is fine. I can get a whole day out of my battery now. Very please with this phone and would recommend it to anyone.

re: iPhone 4S: 4 Fastest Ways To Drain Battery
I recently bought the iphone 4s, and I must say I am very displeased! Not only does the battery
drains very quickly, I am having trouble receiving Emails. I get the emails on my computer not my phone, and Siri never seems to be able to help me. I just read the 4 tips for a longer battery life if I have to do all of that why have this expensive phone? I have been to Verizon concerning my email, it worked that particular day. I try downloading the battery update with no luck, I will be visiting Verizon tommorow to return this phone- too much trouble!! I will stick with the blackberry!

re: iPhone 4S: 4 Fastest Ways To Drain Battery
I use an Android HTC EVO4G and a Blackberry Bold 9930 and have no problems with battery life. I have 40 some apps and 3 email accounts. I enjoy all of the benefits of having a smart phone, BUT one has be as smart as your phone is. Through using an app,?, then make sure that you close it. My screen is set on 3/4 bright and turns off in 10 seconds. When I am through using it, I put it to sleep. Turn off the apps you are not using and enjoy your phone.

re: iPhone 4S: 4 Fastest Ways To Drain Battery
Android fanboy here to answer your question. My phone is a LG P999, (which I bought sub-$300 off contract) is similar to the Galaxy S II. 8 megapixel rear facing that takes 1080p video, has a 1.2 ghz dual core processor and a 4 in screen (which is admittedly not as nice as the iphone's, but i'll take the extra real estate) oh yeah, and 4g too. I don't do any battery optimization, and it usually runs fine under normal use for two days. I do usually plug it in every night though. No matter what I use it for, it never runs out of battery within one day. And no, it isn't that apple has superior hardware here - my phone, which is getting on a year old, actually has a slightly bigger battery than the 4s. If battery life ever did become a problem, I could buy a new battery for sub-$20 online, and just pop off the back cover and install it. It blows my mind why apple didn't put a bigger battery into a device they knew would be drawing much more power. Oh yeah and the processor is bigger too, but there is a lot of intelligent CPU control that goes on behind the scenes in Android phones, not sure if Apple phones have that yet. And my phone is definitely not a brick. Never had any of those problems. But you will remember that the original iphone did have it's own plethora of issues. Lay off on the first generation. The bottom line is that apple is, for the first time, behind in the phone game. Like over a year, since phones which were released a year ago like mine can roundly beat the iphone on a technical level. Apple is used to being behind on a technical level though, and from a price standpoint. They can overcome it to some degree with cool features like Siri, but I believe that they are destined to fall from a position of innovator to niche underdog, just like they did in the PC market. I also believe that the Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet and the Fire will lead to a change in the way Android tablets are done, and the lower price point will spell doom for Apple, in the same way that netbooks became popular after the macbook air.

My battery life is great. Then again, I switched from a HTC Thunderbolt which lasted 4 hours max.
