Re : Tizen, Sailfish, Firefox Take On Android
Tizen from Samsung may be far from being launched, let alone successful. But what would happen to Android if Samsung exclusively adopts its own house-built operating system considering that Androidís largest share of market comes from Android powered Samsung devices? It is a tough decision for Samsung as well because it is hard to say if Samsung devices will be as popular without Android as they are with Android.

Re : Tizen, Sailfish, Firefox Take On Android
New operating systems would rather try to distinguish them from established platforms like Android, iOS and Windows. So far, focus seems to be getting more like one of these established smart phone operating systems. In my opinion some innovation might work for new entrants in the market though I am not sure what it could be considering the strength of established operating systems.

Release an extensible open-source drag-and-drop HTML mobile app creator and add technology to Firefox OS to run Android apps.

Re: Firefox advice?
As long as they can run Android apps, I'd market it as a better Android than Android.  Of course better at what might be a stretch but not for marketing engineers.  (Of course I assume this is a marketing problem, not a technical problem.)

Firefox advice?
It seems like Mozilla's FF name recognition could help it make a go of a unified system along the lines of Chrome.

Conceptual question for readers: If the Mozilla Foundation hired you as a consultant to get its mobile platform off the ground, what would be your first piece of advice? And don't say "give it up."
