WRT the touch keyboard concerns, try the dictation feature. Especially for quick (text) messages, it works great.

Open Facebook app - type a message in 'Status' - click camera icon and select from your library of pictures.

The security features of IPhone are still far from wide enterprise deployment. Probably companies with less security concerns may adopt it easier than the other. It may take them one compromised device to understand the risk they have taken.
