Sounds like a phenomenal way to rob someone. Steal someone's cell phone, install this application - and find out who around you is carrying cash!

Takes out the guess work when looking for your next mark!

re: Apple Wants You To Dispense Cash
Unless there is something in this model that specifically requires cash to be exchanged, we may be looking at what could be a serious contender for current payment systems.

If no bills and coins have to trade hands, any goods or services could be traded this way. You could buy anything on the spot, just using your phone and the app. Just request the necessary amount from the seller. No ATM, no POS, no card. Apple turns into a bank and every iPhone into a POS.

That's a daring move. From iTunes to iCash?...

Perhaps they can patent an 'air breathing exchange' application?

re: Apple Wants You To Dispense Cash
Maybe I'm not getting it, but this seems like a silly idea--the kind of thing that might appeal to a startup, but not to a high-margin hardware company. Then again, Apple probably doesn't care about the service. It's just playing patent roulette. We really need to fix the patent system.
