Truly an idiot, that did no research on this. Stopped in a GameStop Store today and they had 32GB Nexus 7's on the counter. The clerk told me that they have been in stock all season.

"If you're desperate, the $399 iPad 2 or $499 Retina iPad are your two best choices, based on availability." Whaaaaa? These are the best-selling tablets by far. Why would one have to be desperate to buy one?

Knew the author was an idiot the minute he states the Nexus is not available in stores...the majority of Walmart's and Staples around me are showing the Nexus in stock as of Sunday morning the 23rd!

Office Depot in Flint, MI has several Nexus 7's 16GB ($199) & 32GB ($249). Great service and no lines!

"the Nexus devices are not available in stores, so you're pretty much out of luck at this point."

Wrong. Staples, Walmart and Game Stop all carry the Nexus 7, Staples carries the Nexus 10.
