Being a leader in thinking, action, & delivering quality as process and result is key. The example Jennifer Trzepacz becomes is that of a person getting things done. Be the actions from a GǣmanagerGǥ or a GǣstafferGǥ it is the delivery of results thatGs important.

At my Facebook page there is a Sept 25, 2012, posted link to a Sept 21 report toGǥThe Top Female Executives Of The 2012 Fast Growth 100" by Jennifer Bosavage appearing at the CRN web site. It might be of interest.

For the 09-25-12 post = http://www.facebook.com/jerry....

Yes, successes continue because we make them happen.

It's true this is anecdotal evidence. But I was drawn to it because it affirms what I've been hearing from cloud companies themselves -- rather than sell to IT they're selling to corporate "end users." There's a parallel here between how pharmaceutical companies target patients instead of doctors. Only difference is LOB managers often don't need -- or at least won't seek -- an official sanction (like a prescription) because they can easily try it before they buy it. It may not diminish ITs role -- that remains to be seen -- but it sure does change it.

One of my Twitter friends correctly points that this scenario proves easier for line of business execs when you're talking about a startup. There's no legacy IT baggage/integration worries. But this trend goes far beyond startups and is clearly on CIOs' minds. It's happening at the department level inside of enterprises. Some CIOs are betting security preserves their role in setting the software agenda--Laurianne McLaughlin, InformationWeek

Good article. I'm guessing the distribution of the IT budget to other departments isn't going to stop. BUT, the role of IT shifting from a software developer to a software integrator is just starting. It would be much smarter for CIO, etc. to get ahead of the curve instead of waiting until the non-traditional IT departments go about doing their deploying and start worrying about integration, privacy, security, etc, etc.
