Re: Ludicrous Mode is simply Ludicrous for Most
One of the benefits of electric power is the instantaneous delivery. That is why electirc trains go so quickly off the mark and are much more efficient than other power sources.

Re: Speed Limit and Mileage Limit
I've seen a few Tesla charging stations in malls believe it or not here in NY. The problem is with a charging station is that it is not like going to a gas station for a fillup that only takes a few minutes to complete. Even with the highest energy output chargers, it still could take over an hour to charge the car. That is why it makes sense to have them at a mall where you could be shopping for a few hours while your car charges. I have heard rumours of highways eventually having charging plates embedded so electric cars could be recharged on the go much the way cell phones are now experimenting with charging mats.

Re: Speed Limit and Mileage Limit

@tjgkg     I agree.   And I have heard from Tesla junkies that electrical stations are going to be sprouting up all over California, not sure about the rest of the U.S.

But I would suppose other states will see an increase in electrical charging stations as well -  It is vital to Musk's plan of World domination.

Ludicrous Mode is simply Ludicrous for Most

I am really excited about the Tesla Model 3, finally a Tesla that the rest of us can afford.    I have ridden in a Tesla and it was simply the fastest accelerating car I had ever ridden in.

The car takes off like a rocket and considering that most people have trouble driving over 40 mph/hr consistently - I don't see the Ludicrous Mode as a safe option for most.

Speed Limit and Mileage Limit
I'm not sure i see the reason why you need an electric car (or any car for that matter), that goes 155mph when the speed limit is mostly 55. Plus driving that fast will certainly lower the available miles between charges. Until there are more convenient and quicker ways to recharge, there is going to be a limit as to how useful electric cars will be.
