@brian.dean- You are right that geography matters. That is one of the next steps for the app. At the same time, for some products supply is more than local, especially with online buying. So, for instance, let's say no one in my region is interested in Legos but boy, are they hot in another region. If I want Legos, even if I'm the only one in my region, I might still have troubles as supply is bought up online and shifted elsewhere by stores. But Watson might be able to help me figure that out so I ship in-store.

But it is interesting how youc an get a bit too local with this if you aren't careful as well.

The Power of Watson
It is great to see that consumers are gaining access to the power of Watson. Assuming that the data currently on display is for the US it would be interesting to compare data from the EU as it becomes available. In the long term there will need to segment the data down to the city level.

I feel that there is business value as well that Watson can deliver to the retail sector and help to optimize inventory levels. For instance, according to Google's search trends there are a total of 1.2 million monthly searches for the Apple Watch and Watson is displaying a similar image.
