Is it bad that...
I want to wait until Microsoft sunsets Windows 7 before thinking about Windows 10? Maybe then they'll have the kinds worked out?

Since i speak fluent Typonese,; I assume you meant to say "kinks".

You have to remember that Windows 10 is given away free. And that means you are the product. It just collects the data on what you do.

Collecting data on what I do? Is MS trying to usurp biometrics and other personal information so that they can store it in the clouds? Boy am I afraid now!

Well, not biometrics. They just want to know what you run and where you visit. For now.

Google Mail already knows what you write in email.

If Google ever decides to go rogue I an totally screwed. Between using Gmail, Chrome, and and Android phone that integrates everything else, they know stuff about me even I don't know about me...

I just wonder how you would ever know if Google went rogue on you.

It already sucks up all your data.

The police showing up at my door would probably be my first clue - that along with a team of psychiatrists with a straight jacket.

I would be very upset if MS pulled the plug on Windows 7. That has been my go-to OS. It is so powerful that it puts anything else to shame. Although 10 is more optimized, I have a thing for old but gold OS's. I only parted ways with XP when they closed the support for it.

I was the same way. I remember complaining about XP when it was first released. And they needed to finally pry it from my cold, stubborn hands when I eventually upgraded to Win7.

You aren't alone in keeping XP. All it ever did was work.

"...for Windows 10, which can then be activated with a valid Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key"
So, I don't need to install Windows 7 and on top of it, Windows 10. Did I get this right? When Windows 10 asks me for the product key, I just input the Win 7 key.

Without having tried it, I would say yes.

Anyone try it? Tell us.
