I am of the opinion that these events can be used to launch a new product at the competititive rate with the old ones so the customers can have a bigger pool of choice. It will be mutually beneficial for both like the company will be launching its new product and its advertisment will be done on these events. I hope the bigger companys are already utilizing these events for that purpose.
@ Its really amazing to buy those things at so much discounted price. I am sure that it is lucrative for most of the customers to buy things at these events but the the main benificiries will be all those buying these gadgetry in bulk. Being in far off place I have seen many buisnessman waiting for these events to happen and then they buy the equipment at discounted price and resell it later at its original prices.

A friend of mine gave me a Lumia 635 to sell. I advertised it for 40 bucks. No wonder I can't sell it. I wouldn't even buy it with the prices of the new phones.
The 10-cent deals are pretty neat. I'm sure I'll find something to buy. Too bad that there isn't an offer like: For the first 10 million users get a copy of Windows 10, for only 10 cents!
