Re: Much needed
I feel Microsoft made the right decision by moving into a multiplatform application. It's now or never.

Re: Much needed
@shakeeb,

To add to your comment, since many Windows tablets have such a low entry price point, many folks get these devices just for the extra screen real state since you don't really need much regarding processor and specs for emailing, thus going for there laptops only when needed.

@tzubair,

Great comment...you're right...by having it be in differnet environments is assuring that Microsoft is still consider king when it comes to business applications.

The fact that getting an email setting is so easy is also a plus (when before IT departments would need to configure them)

Re: Much needed
"It means thzt constantly looking at improving the mobile version of Outlook."

@shakeeb: Microsoft has been coming up with the upgrades for outlook regularly. The important change is the change in strategy where they have gone to a multi-platform approach. That will instantly give them a boost in the user base

Re: Much needed
Office 365 is revolutionizing the way people work on the emails. Now it's much more convenient to configure the email on your mobile and even access it on any web browser. You now have no need of carrying a laptop everywhere you go just to see your emails.

Re: Much needed
Updates are always good as users should have a reason to use Microsoft Outlook than using the conventional default mail application available on their mobile. Outlook seems to be also promoting the Microsoft Office Android applications with the open with function.

It's a wise decision taken by Microsoft because even Google enable Gmail to configure other email service provided email services on the Gmail app. I feel it was a wise decision by Microsoft to retain the existing users.

It's good to have Outlook on your mobile. It's much more convenient to have the same platform both on your PC and mobile.

Re: Much needed
"Outlook is just phenomenal. Many folks have decided to leave there laptops docks since they can manage most of what they do (email wise) from there phone."

@mejiac: I agree with this. Outlook has been one of the best thing that happened to emails and Microsoft can clearly call it a flagship product. It does seem like a good idea to have it being used cross platform and increase the user base regardless of the platform.
