Hope it will be a guaranteed thing, eventually
I think this is a viable alternative to "more ads" and another way to keep top-notch content creators motivated.

I was appalled, however, when I clicked on "Learn More" (on my blog's newly-placed Contributor badge) that a photo of Paul Edmondson, the CEO of HubPages, is shown endorsing? Google Contributor.

I hope Mr. Cutts will consider removing his image and replacing it with an ethical website owner instead – one who doesn't have outstanding complaints filed against him or her with the FTC and Consumer Affairs.

I'm with you, Thomas; They had me until somewhere around the halfway mark. Ten dollars to maybe block half of the ads on some pages/apps, sometimes, if the publisher allows it? That seems a little steep, and the lack of an all-in option (and general mumness on future plans) seems auspicious; streaming video sites like Twitch already offer subscription services, often in the five dollar range, that allow you to see no ads, ever; and that's for multi-minute video ads. Mix in the lack of details on tracking/analytics, the lack of removing that bloat, etc., and it seems like a bit of a halfhearted effort from Google. Still a cool concept, but I think the execution here will prevent it from really catching on.
