Re: replacing laptops?
@ Technorati. I think Apple products are good. If we look at their numbers even after so many years they continue to stay in the single digits in comparison to windows based laptops.  I think yes, laptops will probably replace the desktop, if they haven't done so. But tablets won't be replacing laptops any time soon.  Let see how enterprise users react to the new Ipad.

Re: replacing laptops?
@PedroGonzales     Good point, there does seem to be an organic nature to tech devices and hardware in general, I was recently in an airport in San Francisco and I was amazed at the number of people who had Mac as opposed to a Windows based laptop.

Apple seems to be more like a cult rather than anything really rational, sure they make good hardware but those older Mac Pro's that didn't make it to the transistion to 10.10 were really costly and it just doesn't seem to matter to the faithful that you must buy a newer one to get the latest OSX.

It must be nice.

Re: replacing laptops?
@ technorati. That is a good point.  But, consumer demands seem organic.  you can give them such tablets, but if they do not share it and recommend it to their friends, it will not become a mass product.  This is the opposite from Apple where their products are very popular among large number of users.

"....I agree. Even with the release of Microsoft surface people aren't fully adopting it"

@PedroGonzales   This hasn't unfortunately stopped Microsoft from pushing the Surface unmericfully. They have teamed up with the NFL, now I cannot watch anything football related without someone holding one.

I don't care how many analyst and players use their free Surface to analyze the obvious - I see don't want one and I hope most are not dumb enough to be influenced by this shameless form of advertising.

Re: replacing laptops?
@soozyg   I agree.   Besides the price which is far too high, I think Apple is fooling themselves if they think this will cause people to choose this iPad pro over a laptop.  I personally am tired of the tablet concept, keyboard or no keyboard.

Re: replacing laptops?
I agree. Even with the release of Microsoft surface people aren't fully adopting it.  I do not see why Apple would want to move in a direction similar to microsoft.  A comparison between this new Ipad and surface will be great.  I know may companies give their travel employees their own laptop, would apple partner with such companies to distribute this type of Ipads as a replacement of a laptop.

iOS devices are likely Disneyland. Nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live or work there. I'm sticking with my MacBook Pro.

Oh, yes, I've definitely encountered that inaccessibility on iPad. And sometimes when I try to implement Dropbox, the access depends on the capability of the person using Dropbox. My mother and sister in law both still have trouble accessing and using Dropbox.

>> Interesting. So do you mean iCloud isn't as secure as other virtual storage?

I think I was talking about people wanting to send me something, or show me something, and other than email, for which it was too large, there's no way to get it off the machine...except for dropbox, etc. which may or may not work
