All these initiatives sound great and promising. Google's health-oriented company, Calico, makes sense as the final goal for all the other initiatives, research, and projects. Human longevity research is, indeed, something that will be achived when winning the battle with all these diseases that cause so much pain. -Susan

zerox, what do you mean by "he's a bit older, so this is not hard for him"? :/ I would think it's more of a personality issue, perhaps. Are those his words, or you assume it's not hard for him? I ask because I have become more interested in sociodynamics lately. :) -Susan

Re: Google, Sanofi Focus On Diabetes Data
My father is diabetic. He needs to plan his meals around his insulin intake - 'This is delicious, but I'll only eat a little. I have to eat again in a couple of hours'. If he has errands to do, he has to plan around it as well. Fortunately, he's a bit older, so this is not too hard for him. I also have a coworker who is diabetic. He carries a bag around with his supplies in it. Not only does he have to bring it it to work, he has to go get it and bring it with him when he switches tasks or moves to a different area, goes to lunch, etc. It adds time and inconvenience to everything. Conditions like this do seem like the last big area that technology hasn't revolutionized yet. Smart of Google to tap it, and good news for everyone.
