@Larryloeb: I did that very same thing! I was too afraid about upgrading from my Windows 7 and so I made a VM partition and installed Windows 10 there. Runs fine and smooth.

VM programs for the Mac like Parallels will do it.

You just run Windows 10 in a partition and Cortana will always be active.

Apple's BootCamp will also support it, but Windows 10 needs to be in the foreground.

IOS will have to wait for Microsoft,t hough.

Good things
I've heard a lot of great things about Cortana for PC, so it's good to see Microsoft going down a route that allows other platforms to take advantage of the software. 

Android is a great fit for this because I think there is some room for this on that platform. Plus, Apple probably wouldn't let Cortana work on its tight platform. Maybe someday...
