Re: Needs more care
@SachinEE i believe that wifi needs to have coverage like wimax of yesteryears. I believe that wifi needs to adopt more powerful technology to give similar coverage across the grid. I have not heard anything concrete in that direction. What you can say about that.

Re: Needs more care
@SachinEE, agreed. WiFi and connectivity standards have a long way ahead to evolve. Benefits that mesh networks offer such as, Zigbee with its low power requirements, etc., will have to be incorporated in the future.

At present, WiFI and Zigbee has many trade-offs, the advantages of one becomes the disadvantages of the other. I imagine that with time a standard will develop that offers the best of both worlds.

Re: Needs more care
@Brian: Wi-Fi needs to keep up with IOT modifications since IOT and smart devices would be used extensively under an internet plan or wifi usage, wifi signals need to be stronger and evenly spread apart, also it should have a wide area coverage.

Re: Needs more care
The value of a single device increases as the number of devices increase in a network. The network effect might apply to security and privacy as well. Consumers expect free WiFi in-exchange for information (ad targeting capability). Security comes into play when the information provided by the consumer falls into the wrong hands and/or privacy comes into play when an excessive amount of targeting takes place. If more devices begin to share a greater amount of information then, it becomes difficult for the bad guys to single out a user (there is safety in numbers) and ad budgets become ineffective by constantly targeting every user at every waking minute of their day (users begin to specialize in the art/science of ignoring).

Needs more care
A nice information indeed. I am feelinh a bit comfortabe with the authantication process. I believe that these networks are already gathering more information then you think and then you are officially allowing them once and then for infinite time they are having access to your information which you are upgrading again and again. Sometime the information is such which you do not want to share but initially you have agreed to it. So you are crossed without your knowledge.
