3D Robotics CEO Anderson says drone package delivery is practical
Just heard Chris Anderson, CEO of 3D Robotics, say: apartment dwellers could go to roof, unlock open air box that includes a drone helipad, and retrieve their packages. We can do that today, if we wanted to, he said. What's harder is delivering to individual homes and executing on the right drop point "without hitting the dog." This was at the InformationWeek 100 event in Las Vegas April 27.

Delivery costs...
While I too think that drones have interesting possibilities I don't know how we could possibly manage a world of drones hovering around. I think it's dangerous and unsightly. I would be concerned about my child playing outside and a drone falling on her. They will malfunction and when they do they can injure and cause accidents that could take lives. Don't think I need my shipment at any cost!
