> nasimson what do you think about the Relationship Manager concept? I think this is the latest trend.

@shamika: Relationship managers are the single POC from a company to its client. Are you talking about that?

Or are you talking about the Business Partner? The single HR person assigned to a deparment to liason for its all HR needs.

Re: Internal Customers
@sachin, I agree with you. Culture and management style are the important factors. At the same time I believe the job itself will add more weight in to employee motivation.

Re: Internal Customers
@sunita I meant the other departments in an organization. They are the internal customers that we deal on day to day basis. As an example, if the IT department needs to increase the headcount, they will come to HR requesting help.

@tzubair: I think employee satisfaction also depends on the work culture and the management of the place, and not only HR.

Re: Internal Customers
@SunitaT0: The testing department already has people with that kind of mentality. Moreover the company can just hire professional testers to test the final product and add their comments.

Re: whats next after HR
Guys, what Salesforce is doing hardly counts as an "HR package". HR is recruiting/interview tracking, benefits mgmt, performance reviews, job history tracking, training history tracking. And I'm not even including Payroll, which is ADP for us. But HR still manages.

I guess if you are a really big company wheo rarely talks to each other, you could make an argument for what Salesforce has done. But to think you are buying this and solving your HR systems is wrong.

HR
Pardon my snark, but FWIW, in my experience, the primary information that employees need from HR but can never seem to get is how to actually get in touch with their HR representative...

Re: Internal Customers
"In my opinion I think it's always better to manage both internal and external customer relationship. Internal customers would be the first contact point."

@shamika: I agree. I think the internal customers are often ignored and that often leads to poor performance and higher turnover. If the company is using a proper HR module to keep a track of HR records, it would also lead them to better evaluate individual performances and hence to greater employee satisfaction.
