I still can't imagine how 2.3 million have already pre order an Iwatch is it amazing.  I agree with everyone that Apple are using their marketing muscle to make their watch sound as appealing or even more than their previous devices.

Re: It's so popular...
Apple is acting like a 1960s consumer company  -- trying various ploys to drum up interest, etc. We've fallen into a Mad Men episode.

Can't imagine why they think in a time of fierce competition, as well as wonderful innovation, that holding back product is the right way to go.

Is the goal not the have a consumer and business market? Or only consumers?

If the watch is ever to be taken seriously and developed by enterprise IT, 3rd party developers, and others, as a platform, or an adjunct for communications, scheduling, processing, etc. it has to be available for those folks to look at and work with. Whatever new ideas and capabilities can come from the watch, then the faster people have them the better.

Unless of course Apple isn't ready to really support the product, and is holding back until they can.

Re: It's so popular...
Restricting availability does not convince me that the demand for the Apple Watch is as great as has been reported. It seems that Apple is increasing demand by limiting availability. The Apple Watch's inaccessibility enhances its appeal. Brilliant marketing, but then Apple has long excelled at that.
